Mirages

It is the merry month of October, the season of ghouls and monsters. With enlightenment, the perception of Halloween has shifted from fear and scary stories to a festive occasion that many now look forward to, almost as much as Christmas in December. Halloween brings with it images of horror (Frankenstein, Dracula, the Mummy, Freddie, zombies) as well as revivals of urban tales and folk legends; sometimes, creepy enough to cause one to take second looks at dark shapes or sinister movements. Then, there is the laughter that comes with the realization that an imagined aberrancy is, after all, normal.
