It's summer once again and Palawan is the editors' pick for a must-see holiday getaway. Celebrated for its pristine beauty, sugar-white sandy beaches, longest subterranean river, wildlife and biodiversity, Palawan has made the list as one of the top destinations in the world.
Not many people know that this island is home to three ophthalmologists who chose to pursue their vocation in this vacation paradise. While the prevailing trend favors medical practice in affluent urban centers over rural areas, these three and others more in the rest of the archipelago have dared to walk the road less travelled.
